Was it a murder? Was it a suicide? Does the New Netflix Documentary Series gives the answer?

Was it a murder or a suicide? What was it exactly? What really happened that night? Does the new Netflix documentary series answers this questions? Well Kind of yes.

Netflix recently released a new documentary series "House of Secrets - The Burari Deaths" which is based on the case where 11 members of the same family were found dead in their home due to hanging. The incident took place on 1st July, 2018 in Burari, Delhi. This documentary series by Netflix re-examines the entire case by showing original footage during the time investigation was going on and also talking to people who were involved in the case. That included police officers, investigators, psychologists, forensics, neighbors, family members, relatives, friends and news reporters. The series not just talks about the incident but also gives a very important social message.

So does this documentary series provides us with the answers? I wont completely deny that. There are still so many unanswered questions, so much mystery but yes by watching this series, one can get    an idea of what might have happened. Though what exactly happened is still a mystery,  there are certain clues which are shown in the series which makes us think that this is how it must have happened. But the series don't really tell whether it was a suicide or murder. Instead the police involved in that case gives this incident a different name.

But the series not only tells us about the case but also shows some of the most important flaws of  our society and the media and gives out an important message. And incase you think that they just connected a message with the series to give it a ending, well its not. The message is very well connected with the case and not just that, if it was addressed at the right time, chances were this incident might have never happened.

So what is the message? In India we always think that only mad people require a psychiatrist. Well that should not be our thinking. Any people who have gone to a incident which have shocked them mentally and emotionally or had an accident which might have hurt the head in a bad way must go to the psychiatrist. This in anyway doesn't means that the person is mad. Just like how we require different doctors for different parts of the body, for a person who has gone through a lot mentally and emotionally or had any accident which might have hurt the head, the guardian of the person must consult a psychiatrist. We don't really talk about mental issues openly but this is what we should also talk about. Talking about issues makes that person less stressed and this is what we should make normal in India, talking about mental issues, consulting a psychiatrist. Making this things normal transforms into a better society.

And do I really need to tell you about the media flaws? Fake stories for TRP, No sensitivity. It also shows how much pressure does the reporters have because they are told to break the story or news before any other channel.

In the series we also saw the police perspective on what they go through while solving a case. All the criticism and fake stories plotted against them and many wrong allegations.

So is the series worth watching when the answers are still missing? Well it is must watch to be honest. Its not like we didn't get any answers, we got answers but there are still many unanswered questions and mysteries that exist. And let me tell you that there would be a lot of  'Oh my god' and "oh Shit!' moments when you watch it because the clues and the way pieces are arranged and some conclusions and some revelations are just so shocking.  And also the message that has been given is something we all need to hear.

Incase you are struggling or someone you know is struggling, Netflix has shared a website where information and crises resources are available. It is   www.wannatalkaboutit.com

DO NOT HESITATE TO CONSULT A PSYCHIATRIST OR TALK TO A PSYCHOLOGIST. INFACT YOU SHOULD ALSO TALK TO A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER INCASE YOU ARE GOING THROUGH SOMETHING EMOTIONALLY OR MENTALLY.
