The Fame Game - review

We're all so well versed with this famous line, "Don't judge a book by its cover." This a very famous line that can be related to many things apart from books. For eg, a person, food, and a life of a famous person. That is what The Fame Game, an original Netflix series,  is all about. We all think about how lavishing the life of our favorite stars must be. So much fame, love, money, and luxury lifestyle. We think about having it as well. But have you ever met them in person or lived with them or known their life personally? No, right. Whatever we see is on-screen. Whatever we are seeing is what our favorite stars want us to see. You must have come across this line so much, "Don't believe everything that is there on social media." Some people do it to show off, while some people hide whatever is going on with them in their personal life and choose to act as if they are the happiest people in the world. The Fame Game is exactly that. Everyone has their own fight. No matter how much you say what a life our famous celebrities are living, at the end of the day, they are human beings, and they have emotions. That's not everything that this series covers. It also shows that star kids don't have easy lives as well. Have you ever wondered about being a daughter or a son of a famous celebrity? Well in case you think that they have a lavish lifestyle, well for a certain fact it is true. But they are always under pressure about getting compared with their famous parent(s). They are scared of following the same line as what their parents are doing because of the hatred, the pressure of getting compared, and the pressure of creating an image, and a name for themselves, there are a lot of things that they went through. But at the end of the day, a parent's legacy is taken ahead by their children, isn't it true? Yet so much hatred against nepotism. Sure they get opportunities that might have been grabbed by someone who can act well and if the Starkid act well, they deserve the role. But we all know that in the end, it's us, the audience, who decides who could be a famous star, right? Hritik, Ranbir, and Alia have created a name for themselves despite being the star kids because they deserve it, they are brilliant in their field.  Another important thing this show covered was how a person feels when they are gay. Despite being legal in India now, many people prefer to hide their sexuality especially when they are gay or lesbian because they feel ashamed. They tend to push it down because they are scared of what their friend would think about or what their parents will think about and that is so wrong. There is no foundation to whatever your sexual preference is. In the end, you are true to yourself, and you are living the life you want.

A celebrity's life is not so simple. While what they show us is all lavish, deep down what they deal with in their personal life is not different from a normal person's life. Family issues, personal issues, and relationships but the most important is the people around them. A successful celebrity has a lot of secrets that cannot be out in the open and for that, it's important that they have trustworthy people around them because one leak and their image, their life, their family, all can be at stake. When we think of their life, all we know is the good part. The luxury lifestyle, money, fame, and love but what about the other parts, the parts like hatred, trolls, crazy stalkers, and personal issues that come with that.

The Fame Game series is a show that covers a lot of aspects of a life of a famous celebrity and their surroundings. By life, I mean off-stage i.e. their personal life, personal issues, family, children, crazy stalkers, trolls, people around them, and a lot more.

This show depicted the needs of cinema so beautifully. Why are actors so famous? why there are so many fan followers of these celebrities? We as a people need an escape from our daily lives. Our fantasy world, a person who takes away our sorrow even if it's only for those 3 hours. Movies do that, and the people act in them. A dream. For people, a celebrity is many things. The role they play, their interviews but in real, who are they, no one really knows except for themselves or maybe not. But actors play so many different roles.

About the Series -

India's most popular and loved actress Anamika Anand suddenly goes missing one day. No note, no clues. While her family seems worried, there is a lot of fishy stuff that was going around before Anamika Anand goes missing. Was it a kidnapping or is Anamika Anand murdered? Review -

The series showcases every emotion and is very well represented by the actors as well. The life of fame, the emotions, the mother's love, what it is like to be a child of the most popular celebrity, and many others. It's a good suspense drama that can be binged. The series hooks you till the end and every problem is depicted making the show more relatable. Now while everything seems positive about this drama, there are times when you would feel things are a bit slow, storyline weakens a little in between but of course, catches up again during the last 2 episodes, the climax is good though nothing shocking either.  The Series Guy rates it as 3.5 out of 5 stars. The best about this series is the take on the life of a celebrity.
